Designed for Ford enthusiasts serious about performance, just beneath the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor lies an easily adjustable mechanical advance assembly. This assembly is precision fine blanked from chrome-moly steel, TIG-welded for strength, and coated with QPQ for durability. The precise weights move smoothly on nylon bushings for seamless advancement, and a variety of advance curves can be achieved with the supplied different springs and stop bushings.
The steel shaft responsible for spinning the advance and reluctor is coated for friction reduction and guided by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing. This combination ensures stable timing signals and spark delivery at any rpm. Triggering duties are handled by MSD's race-proven, maintenance-free magnetic pickup.
*Note: Will not clear some factory-style Shaker Hood Scoops.
