MSD engineers have condensed their wealth of high-performance distributor expertise into a specially designed compact housing tailored for Ford engines. The unique cap and housing are 5/8" smaller in diameter than stock Ford distributors, creating additional space in the front of the engine. The new MSD cap features terminals reminiscent of spark plugs and is securely fastened to the housing.
This distributor relies on MSD's race-proven magnetic pickup and precision reluctor to provide accurate trigger signals to the MSD Ignition during high RPM. The reluctor assembly is turned by a hardened steel shaft that rides in a sealed ball bearing, ensuring stability and endurance at high RPM.
Mounted on top of this shaft is a fully adjustable mechanical advance assembly. The chromoly assembly's timing advance rate is easily controlled by adjusting the supplied advance springs and stop bushings for precise total advance.
