The popular Ford big block billet distributor, now comes equipped with a steel gear to meet specific camshaft requirements.
Beneath the stainless steel terminals of the MSD cap and rotor lies an easily adjustable mechanical advance assembly. This assembly, fine blanked from chromyl steel and TIG-welded for strength, is coated with QPQ for enhanced durability. The precision weights move smoothly on nylon bushings for seamless advancement, and various springs and stop bushings are provided to allow tuning of a variety of advance curves.
The steel shaft responsible for spinning the advance and reluctor is coated with a friction-reducing layer. It is guided by a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing, ensuring stable timing signals and spark delivery at any rpm. Triggering duties are handled by MSD's race-proven, maintenance-free magnetic pickup.
