COMP Cams® introduces these innovative Tool Steel Retainers, featuring a 7° angle and designed to accommodate 8mm stems. Offering a combination of advantages in the valve train, these Tool Steel Retainers excel in providing lightweight construction, exceptional strength, and outstanding wear characteristics. With a weight approximately 33% lighter than traditional chromemoly steel retainers and only 2-4 grams heavier than titanium (depending on the application), they are crafted from high-grade Tool Steel, ensuring resilience in even the most demanding race applications.
The development process involves the utilization of state-of-the-art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Each retainer undergoes precision CNC machining to maintain consistent quality, and they are rigorously Spintron®-tested at extreme RPM levels to ensure optimal performance.
