Customize your fleet with this complete IC3 Connector Set. This pack includes one Battery Connector and one Device Connector (ESC/Charger), giving you everything needed to create a matching connection pair.
Unlike the pre-wired pigtails, these are loose connectors intended for DIY soldering. They are the ideal choice if you want to shorten your wires for a clean racing setup, repair a damaged plug, or convert a non-Spektrum vehicle and battery to the Spektrum Smart ecosystem.
Key Features
-
Complete Matching Pair:
-
1x Battery Connector: (Has female metal bullets inside). Designed to be soldered onto your battery pack.
-
1x Device Connector: (Has male metal pins inside). Designed to be soldered onto your Electronic Speed Control (ESC) or Charger lead.
-
-
Smart Technology Ready: Features the 3rd Center Pin connection point.
-
If using Smart components: You can solder the grey data wire to this center pin to enable telemetry.
-
If using Standard components: You simply ignore the center pin and solder the main power wires. The connector functions perfectly as a standard high-current plug.
-
-
Easy Assembly: The IC series features a user-friendly design where the plastic back cap snaps over the soldered terminals, insulating the connection without the need for heat shrink tubing.
-
EC3 Compatible: Fully compatible with older EC3 connectors.
You can plug your new IC3 battery into an old EC3 truck without adapters.
Specifications
-
Max Continuous Current: ~60 Amps
-
Recommended Wire Gauge: Up to 13 AWG
-
Connector Series: IC3 (Intelligent Connector, 3.5mm bullets)
-
Housing Material: Heat-Resistant Polymer
Assembly Guide: "Device" vs. "Battery"
RC terminology can be confusing regarding gender. Spektrum simplifies it:
-
Battery Side: This plug has the Female Metal Bullets recessed inside the plastic. (Safety feature: Prevents shorting if the battery touches metal).
-
Device Side: This plug has the Male Metal Prongs visible inside the housing. (Fits into the battery).
Builder's Tip: Soldering the IC3
Unlike older connectors where you had to force the hot metal bullets into the plastic, the IC3 is easier:
-
Solder the wires to the metal pins/bullets while they are loose (outside the housing).
-
Insert the pins into the main housing until they click or sit flush.
-
Snap the back cap on. This locks the pins in place and covers the exposed solder joints, making for a very clean looking wire with no exposed metal.
