Unlock the full tuning potential of your drift car's transmission with this Aluminum Spur Gear Adapter. Designed specifically for the Redcat RDS (Rear Wheel Drive Drift Sport), this precision-machined part replaces the standard mounting plate to allow for a wider range of gearing options.
While the stock plastic setup works for the box-stock gearing, this aluminum adapter is essential if you want to install aftermarket spur gears (such as those from reputable drift brands like Kawada, Axon, or Yacht).
Key Features
-
Universal Mounting: Designed to accept standard aftermarket spur gears (typically the 3-screw or 4-screw patterns common in 1/10 drifting), giving you access to nearly infinite gear ratio combinations.
-
CNC Aluminum: Machined from high-grade aluminum for minimum rotational mass and maximum durability.
-
True Rotation: Eliminates the slight flex or wobble sometimes found in plastic adapters, ensuring a smooth, quiet gear mesh that preserves your pinion gear.
-
Heat Dissipation: Aluminum helps pull heat away from the slipper clutch/shaft assembly better than plastic.

Installation Advice
Why Change Spur Gears? In drifting, "Gearing" isn't just about top speed; it changes how the car feels.
-
Smaller Spur (Lower Ratio): Increases wheel speed. This is good for large tracks where you need to keep the tires spinning fast to maintain a long slide.
-
Larger Spur (Higher Ratio): Increases torque/punch. This is better for small, tight tracks where you need instant throttle response to pop out of corners.
Tech Tip: Don't Forget the Screws: Aftermarket spur gears often require specific small screws to mount them to this adapter (usually M3 button heads or countersunk, depending on the gear brand). When installing:
Check Flatness: Ensure there is no debris between the gear and this aluminum adapter.
Threadlock: Use a tiny drop of Blue Threadlocker on the screws that hold the gear to this adapter. If they back out, they will destroy your transmission housing instantly.
