Rebuild the drivetrain of your lowrider with this Complete Differential & Idler Gear Set. Designed exclusively for the Redcat Sixty-Four (1964 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider), this kit contains all the internal gears found inside the rear axle housing.

The Sixty-Four uses a specialized solid rear axle design to accommodate the hopping mechanism. This kit replaces the gears that transfer power from the driveshaft to the wheels. If you hear a "clicking" or grinding noise coming from the rear axle when you hit the gas (but the hopping mechanism works fine), you have likely stripped these internal gears.

Key Features

  • Complete Rebuild Kit: Includes both the Differential Gears (spider/bevel gears that allow the wheels to turn at different speeds) and the Idler Gears (transfer gears).

  • Metal Construction: The gears are manufactured from durable metal to withstand the torque of the motor and the stress of hopping/dancing.

  • Direct Fit: Factory replacement ensures the gear mesh is perfect inside the complex axle housing of the Sixty-Four.

Compatibility

This part is specific to the "Lowrider" platform:

  • Redcat Sixty-Four (1964 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider)

  • Redcat Fifty-Nine (1959 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider)

  • Note: Always check your manual for the Monte Carlo, as it may use slightly different axle components depending on the version.

What's Included

  • (1) Differential Gear Set (Sun and Planet gears)

  • (1) Idler Gear Set

  • (1) Diff Shafts / Pins required for assembly

Installation Advice

Grease is Life: When rebuilding the rear axle of the Sixty-Four:

  1. Clean It Out: Make sure to remove every tiny fragment of the old broken metal gears from the plastic axle housing. If you leave one metal chip inside, it will destroy this new set in seconds.

  2. Lubrication: Pack these gears generously with Black Grease or Moly Grease. Do not run them dry.

  3. Check the Axle Shafts: While the diff is open, check the splines on your metal drive axles. If the axles are rounded off, they might strip out the new diff gears immediately.
