Restore the drive system of your lowrider with this genuine 88-Tooth Spur Gear. This is the main large gear that meshes with the motor pinion to drive the transmission.

Designed specifically for the Redcat Sixty-Four and Fifty-Nine series, this gear is molded from durable composite plastic. It is designed to be the "fuse" of the drivetrain—meaning if you land a hop with the throttle pinned, this plastic gear is designed to strip before your expensive metal transmission gears or motor shaft break.

Key Features

  • Stock Ratio: This is the factory 88T count, ensuring your acceleration and top speed remain exactly as Redcat intended out of the box.

  • 48 Pitch (48P): Uses the standard 48-pitch tooth profile, which offers a quiet and smooth gear mesh suitable for scale cruising and hopping.

  • Precision Molded: Ensures true roundness for consistent contact with the pinion gear.

Compatibility

This is the standard replacement spur gear for:

  • Redcat Sixty-Four (1964 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider)

  • Redcat Fifty-Nine (1959 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider)

  • Redcat Monte Carlo (Check specific manual, as some may vary, but standard lowriders usually share this transmission).

Specifications

  • Tooth Count: 88 Teeth

  • Pitch: 48P

  • Material: Composite Plastic

Installation Advice

The "Paper Strip" Mesh: Setting the gap between this plastic gear and the metal motor gear (pinion) is critical.

  1. Too Tight: The car will whine loudly, the motor will overheat, and you will melt the teeth off this gear in minutes.

  2. Too Loose: You will strip the tops of the teeth off instantly when you hit the gas.

  3. The Fix: Loosen the motor screws. Slide a thin strip of notebook paper between the gears. Push the motor tight against the paper and lock it down. When you pull the paper out, the gap is perfect.
