The Three Stage Retard Control offers precise ignition timing adjustments across three distinct stages. This versatile control system allows you to activate retards for various purposes, such as a nitrous stage or optimizing top-end performance in high gear. With an additional module available, dual-stage nitrous systems can also benefit. When activated simultaneously, the retard amounts accumulate, providing a cumulative effect. For instance, if you implement a 2° retard, followed by a 4° retard in the second stage, and an additional 2° retard at top end, the total retard is 8° (2+4+2=8).
In addition to the individual retard stages, the Three Stage Retard Control features an optional start retard function, enabling a timing retard of 10° or 25° during engine cranking.
This control unit seamlessly integrates with your MSD Ignition and can be triggered by points, electronic ignitions, crank triggers, or magnetic pick-up distributors. Supplied with 2°, 3°, and 4° modules, the Three Stage Retard Control is designed for use with MSD 6, SCI, 7, 8, or 10 Series Ignition systems.
