For dedicated Ford enthusiasts prioritizing performance, beneath the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor lies an easily adjustable mechanical advance assembly. This assembly, finely blanked from Chromoly Steel, undergoes TIG welding for strength and is coated with QPQ. Precision weights smoothly glide on nylon bushings, and various springs and stop bushings are provided for tuning diverse advance curves. The adjustable mechanical advance assembly allows precise modification of the advance curve to match specific applications.
The steel shaft spinning the advance and reluctor undergoes a friction-reducing coating, guided by a sealed ball bearing and long sintered bushing. This combination ensures stable timing signals and spark delivery at any rpm. Triggering duties are managed by MSD's race-proven, maintenance-free magnetic pick-up. MSD premium distributors are complete with a race rotor and alkyd cap.
