The exceptionally tall crab cap is designed to accommodate specialized racing blocks like the Allen Root or Rocket blocks.
Tailored for racing engines facing space constraints due to tunnel rams or blowers, MSD Crab Cap Distributors feature a unique low-profile crab-style distributor cap, enabling fitting into extremely confined areas.
The housing incorporates optional O-rings at the base, enhancing oil control by preventing pressure loss. Additionally, a small oil bleed hole in the base sprays oil onto the distributor and camshaft gears, mitigating excessive wear. As a racing distributor, it includes an adjustable slip collar to compensate for modifications to the distance between the mounting surface and the gear.
The MSD Crab Cap crowns this distributor, featuring spark plug-style terminals for improved connection and grip to the plug wires.
