The Chevrolet housing incorporates several racing-centric features designed to cater to the needs of racers. At the foundation of the CNC-machined housing, two O-ring grooves act as seals, preventing oil in the lifter gallery from leaking through the oil passage. For engines with modified deck heights, heads, or intake, an adjustable slip collar is included, allowing precise adjustment of the installation depth.
A fine-blanked advance cam is meticulously TIG-welded onto the 0.500" QPQ-coated shaft. The advance plate is enhanced with chro-moly weight pins, staked and TIG-welded in place. Specially coated advance weights minimize friction, and nylon pads on the advance plate facilitate rapid response to rpm changes. The advance assembly is fully adjustable or can be easily locked out. With two magnetic pickups positioned precisely 180° apart, racers benefit from a redundant ignition system that can be activated with a simple switch, maintaining constant timing when switching to the secondary ignition.
