The Atomic Trans Control Module (TCM), derived from the popular Atomic EFI series, focuses on straightforward installation and configuration. Paired with a Harness Kit tailored to your application, available for most GM and Ford four-speed automatics, the Atomic TCM (PN 2760) allows you to effortlessly adjust transmission operating parameters, including shift points, torque converter clutch behavior, shift firmness, and more!
Parameter Adjustment
The Atomic TCM streamlines parameter adjustment through the included Handheld Monitor, eliminating the need for a PC and intricate software. The Handheld connects to the Atomic TCM and can serve as a real-time dashboard to monitor the transmission or be disconnected once configuration is complete.
After installation and connection, a few basic parameters in the Initial Setup menu must be specified. This includes selecting the transmission type (e.g., GM 4L60E or Ford 4R70W) from the listed options. Other required fields cover the number of engine cylinders, rear-end gear ratio, tire height, and transfer case ratio if applicable.
With the Initial Setup completed, you can drive the vehicle and use the Advanced Setup menu to fine-tune the transmission. This includes controlling shift points, shift feel, torque converter clutch operation, desired Wide Open Throttle (WOT) shifting, Vehicle Speed Sensor configuration, and more. The Handheld Monitor displays real-time operational data such as engine speed, vehicle speed, throttle position, transmission fluid temperature, shifter position, commanded gear, and more!
