Fine-tune the steering and grip balance of your Kyosho Mini-Z with these factory Low Height Slick Tires. This set features a 30-Degree (Soft) compound, which is widely considered the "Goldilocks" tire for front-end setups on carpet and RCP tracks.
In the world of Mini-Z racing, tires are the single most important tuning part. These "Low Height" tires have a thinner sidewall than standard radial tires. This reduces tire "squirm" or deformation in corners, giving you sharper, more predictable steering response while lowering the car's center of gravity.
Key Features
-
30° Shore Rating: A soft compound that offers excellent grip but isn't as "grabby" as the 20° super-softs. This makes it ideal for front tires, providing enough turn-in without causing the car to traction roll (flip over) instantly in high-speed corners.
-
Slick Tread: Maximum contact patch for use on smooth surfaces like RCP (foam) tracks, carpet, or smooth concrete.
-
Low Height Profile: The reduced diameter lowers the chassis slightly and minimizes sidewall flex, resulting in a more direct feel between your steering input and the track.
-
Set of 4: Includes four identical narrow tires, allowing you to outfit two cars (fronts only) or one 4WD car (if running narrow wheels all around).

Tuning Advice
The "30 Front / 20 Rear" Combo: The most common "Magic Setup" for RWD Mini-Z racing on RCP/Foam tracks is:
-
Front: Install these MZW39-30 (30°) tires.
They provide consistent steering but let the front slide just enough to prevent flipping. -
Rear: Install 20° (Super Soft) tires (like MZW39-20 or Radial Wide MZW38-20) on the rear. This locks the back end down so you can accelerate hard out of corners.
-
Break-In: Slick tires work best once the shiny "mold release" surface is worn off. Run them for 5 minutes or use tire cleaner to remove the gloss for maximum grip.
