COMP Cams® 4-Pattern Camshafts are hydraulic rollers engineered to maximize valve events based on runner length, offering a substantial increase in both area under the curve and stability at high RPM. To extract the most power from your engine, it's crucial to optimize air intake and capture by ensuring valves close at the right moments. Conventional V8 intake manifolds with a single throttle body or carburetor typically have longer outboard runners and shorter inboard runners, necessitating distinct valve event timings.
Our 4-Pattern Camshafts are the first of their kind, accommodating the differences in runner length to prevent valves from closing at improper times. Leveraging insights from NASCAR teams, COMP Cams® has designed a cam series that not only optimizes valve events but also significantly enhances performance stability at high RPM.
Featuring four distinct lobe patterns with separate designs for outboard and inboard runners, these camshafts ensure precise valve events. The outboard exhaust openings are two degrees earlier, while the outboard intake closings occur two degrees later. This groundbreaking technology balances the air/fuel ratio per cylinder, potentially providing a remarkable 1000+ RPM gain over other hydraulic rollers and delivering a power increase ranging from 5-20+ horsepower peak to peak, contingent on cylinder head flow.
Crafted from CNC-machined steel billet cores with cast iron distributor drive gears, these cams boast a tight lobe separation for outstanding performance and a captivating, throaty sound.
