Once out of Park, there's no need to lift the handle until it's time to access Reverse or Park again. Shifting from Drive involves a straightforward lift of the handle, bypassing the reverse lockout safety feature, followed by moving the shift handle forward into Reverse or Park. It's that simple!
The reverse lockout feature aligns with NHRA and IHRA safety regulations, preventing accidental shifts into reverse during drag strip passes. Activating the ratcheting function at the strip is seamless – shift into low gear, launch the vehicle, and hit the shifter forward when it's time to shift. The chrome bezel, shift stick, and knob, complemented by the black "slit" style boot and deep blue medallion, infuse classic muscle car style into your Chevelle interior, while ensuring swift and smooth ratchet shifting.
The shifter package includes a lighted gear position indicator in the bezel, a micro-switch for back-up lights, and a neutral safety switch, averting accidental starts when in gear. With a 5-foot long performance shift cable, cable bracket, trans shift lever, and comprehensive hardware, the installation is hassle-free and can be done at home. Compatible with TH350, TH400, 700R4, 200R4, 4L60, and 4L60E - 4L80E transmissions (without PRNDL switch) right out of the box.
