B&M engineers crafted the Hi-Tek line of differential covers to not only enhance aesthetics but also address various shortcomings of factory stamped steel covers. They began by constructing the covers from robust A356.0-T6 aluminum, known for its superior heat dissipation compared to the factory steel unit. This design helps maintain lower fluid temperatures under high-stress conditions. To reinforce durability, a center bar was added for extra strength, along with load bolts to prevent bearing cap deflection during severe loads.
The internal configuration of the cover maintains a smooth, round back to ensure proper fluid flow over the ring gear, effectively lubricating the gears and bearings. Additional features include a magnetic drain plug for capturing ferrous metal particles, a machined B&M logo, and all necessary hardware. Detailed instructions are provided for a straightforward installation that can be done at home. Note: Gasket not included.
