FAST™ engineers sought inspiration from OEM practices when developing RPM-measuring crank triggers for 400 and 500 horsepower daily drivers. Traditionally, magnetic trigger wheels with cumbersome inductive pickups posed risks of magnet breakage or loss at high engine RPM. Enter FAST® with a superior solution – a magnet-free device featuring a wheel crafted from ASTM A36 grade steel. This robust steel wheel, at a mere .125" thickness, is virtually indestructible. Its slim profile not only reduces weight but also demands less space compared to competitors' bulkier aluminum versions. The FAST™ inductive sensor, compact and hermetically sealed with the connector molded into the body, further sets this device apart.
The reliability and precision of the crank trigger hinge on the innovative trigger wheel design. Instead of incorporating additional magnets, the wheel features tabs on the outer rim. As the wheel revolves, the inductive sensor measures these tabs, providing crucial data to fuel injection and ignition systems for accurate RPM measurement. Since the tabs are an integral part of the single wheel unit, there's no risk of loss or fragmentation as seen with magnetic-style trigger wheels. Trusted by OEMs both on and inside the engine, this sensor ensures long-lasting, accurate timing. Installation is straightforward, and the package includes everything needed. For users of the FAST® XFI™ system, it's a seamless plug-and-play unit. Moreover, it's compatible with various other EFI systems available in the market.
