This digitally controlled accessory provides the flexibility to choose between 5°, 10°, 15°, or 20° of retard during engine cranking. By temporarily pulling back the timing during cranking, the pressure on the starter, flywheel, and the engine's rotating assembly is reduced, facilitating easier engine starting. Once the engine starts or when the key is released, the timing automatically reverts to the set mechanical amount.
The Start and Step also includes a single stage of retard, making it particularly suitable for nitrous engines. This retard can be easily engaged when the nitrous is activated, or a switch can be added for high-speed retard. Quick adjustments between 1°-15° can be effortlessly dialed in using the rotary dial.
Designed for compatibility with magnetic pickups and points input, the Start and Step seamlessly works with 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines.
