The distinctive design of these distributors ensures a snug fit in tight intake systems while effectively transmitting the high voltage from the MSD racing ignition to the spark plugs.
The exceptional high voltage-carrying capabilities are a result of several incorporated features in these low-profile distributors. This includes a large-diameter cap with widely spaced terminals and an injection-molded Rynite rotor with thick vanes to create air turbulence inside the cap. The high dielectric Rynite base also prevents arcing to the billet housing.
The Tall Block Distributor boasts a unique slip collar design, allowing the PN 8558 to accommodate most tall block engines with modified deck height.
