Shortly after acquiring our own G80, we knew enhancing the S58 was a priority, and our first project was to develop a high-performance air intake system. Recognizing that airbox volume, shape, and construction material are vital for maximizing airflow, our engineering team crafted precision carbon fiber airboxes. These airboxes are designed to eliminate restrictions, providing optimal cool-air entry through two additional ports that open to the wheel wells while also enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the engine bay.
The use of carbon fiber not only contributes to a lightweight design but also minimizes engine bay heat soak, ensuring sustained performance. Our airboxes were meticulously engineered using advanced 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench technology, resulting in a remarkable reduction in air intake restriction—13% on the driver-side intake tract and 22.8% on the passenger side.
For superior filtration, our kit includes dual high-flow oiled air filters that offer improved surface area and airflow compared to stock panel filters. Beyond the performance benefits, our intake system amplifies the captivating sounds of turbocharger spool and bypass valve venting, adding to the exhilarating driving experience synonymous with the BMW M-Series.
