These bands, connected to servos, enable gear selection and action. Activated by hydraulic transmission fluid, the servos respond to torque converter pressure, applying force against the bands, ultimately locking them into place around the transmission drums.
In the intricate dance of transmission components, flex bands facilitate gear action by forming a link between the transmission axle shaft and gears. Each transmission gear set corresponds to a set of bands and drums, orchestrating the transmission gear action. The fluid flow out of the servos disengages the bands, reversing the entire process.
