The S197 chassis's third-link setup has long struggled with issues like brake hop and axle tramp when equipped with the stock arm. The excessively compliant stock bushing, designed for comfort, falls short of the desired performance characteristics. Whiteline's upper control arm offers a robust solution, constructed from high-strength 4130 Chromalloy and adopting the longer arm length introduced by Ford in their 2011 revision, effectively mitigating brake hop.
Featuring a synthetic elastomer bushing, this arm enhances rear-end stability without introducing the harshness often associated with commonly used bearing designs. It's equipped with an eccentric crush tube that allows for easy adjustments to the pinion angle and instant center without the need for a turnbuckle adjustment. The pinhole voiding feature permits the bushing to articulate freely, avoiding any binding issues. To further bolster rigidity, a heavy-duty mount is included, designed to be universally compatible with all years of the S197 chassis.
