Introducing the New DV+ for Late-Model VAG and European Applications!

GFB offers a straightforward DV+ solution, keeping what works and replacing what doesn't. GFB patents and design patents are registered in the U.S.A, Australia, China, and PCT patents are pending.

The DV+ retains the factory solenoid coil for seamless integration, replacing plastic valve parts with metal for enhanced reliability and strength on chipped engines. It's a direct-fit replacement with GFB's TMS benefits and features an exclusive "pilot-actuated" valve mechanism for rapid response at high boost.

GFB has expanded the DV+ range with a direct-fit solution designed for the factory diverter valve used in various European vehicles. While the solenoid coil in the factory-fitted valve performs admirably, the valve mechanism itself can be a weak point. GFB's DV+ resolves this issue by replacing just the valve parts with an anodized billet aluminum housing fitted with a brass piston machined to exacting tolerances.

The outcome is a crisper throttle response, rapid valve actuation, and the ability to hold as much boost as you can deliver. Other manufacturers' products necessitate replacing the entire system with a traditional pneumatic valve, requiring long vacuum hose runs, additional parts for tapping into the intake manifold vacuum, as well as either a different solenoid valve to actuate the pneumatic valve or a ballast resistor to connect to the OE wiring loom. All of these additional components result in a product that is slower, less responsive, more expensive, and takes much longer to install.

In contrast, GFB's DV+ solution is more responsive, cost-effective, easier to install, and does not cause compressor surge or turbo flutter. Moreover, it doesn't require different springs or frequent rebuilds.

The DV+ Story: Enhancing Performance and Reliability

Many late-model European cars employ ECU controlled solenoid-type diverter valves. While this concept has advantages in terms of quick valve reaction and selective opening, there are inherent issues with these valves. Typically, two types of solenoid-actuated diverter valves are found in VAG and European vehicles, both of which have their downsides.

Common OE Problem #1: Diaphragm types are known to rupture, especially when subjected to increased boost and temperature resulting from chip tuning.

Common OE Problem #2: The plastic piston-type often leaks more than anticipated (by design, not wear), and doesn't always close after a high-boost gear shift.

Additionally, in both cases, the solenoid on the OE diverter is directly connected to the valve mechanism, which is not ideal because neither it nor the return spring are robust enough to open and close the valve reliably under high boost.

Recognizing these issues, other aftermarket manufacturers often opt to replace the factory diverter entirely. Unfortunately, while their replacement kits may offer enhanced strength compared to the factory diverter, their slower response speed and lower flow rates do not justify the additional cost and complexity, making them more of a compromise than a solution.

GFB has adopted a different approach to provide a comprehensive solution that addresses existing problems and improves performance without compromise or a hefty price tag.

The DV+ tackles the factory valve problems with a simple and elegant solution. Keeping the factory solenoid preserves all the advantages of the stock system, and replacing the valve parts with indestructible metal components ensures strength and reliability, regardless of the boost levels.

Moreover, instead of the solenoid directly actuating the valve, GFB has introduced a unique "pilot-actuation" system. This innovation means the solenoid controls the air pressure used to open and close the piston, ensuring that the DV+ consistently operates without exceeding the solenoid's capacity, regardless of the boost levels.

This feature also improves on the factory system by progressively opening the valve in response to boost pressure, resulting in better throttle response. Unnecessary replacement kits from other manufacturers compromise rather than solve the issues at hand.
